The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), provides specific rights to California residents.
You have the right to know the personal information we collect, how we use it, and how long we keep it. This privacy policy provides details about our collection and use practices. California law requires that we tell you the categories of information we collect. Depending on your interactions with us, we may collect the following categories of personal information, some of which may be considered sensitive personal information as that is defined by California law:
- Identifiers, including name, physical and email addresses, mobile device identifiers, IP address, and other similar identifiers.
- Legally protected classifications, including race and gender.
- Commercial information, including products or services you purchase or consider purchasing.
- Audio, electronic, visual, or similar information, including voice recordings and video recordings of research panel studies.
- Professional or employment-related information
- Other information that may identify, relate to, describe, or is capable of being associated with you, for example, information you provide in written or verbal responses to questions we ask as part of a Research Panel study.
We use this information for business and commercial purposes as defined by California law, including facilitating your participation and involvement in our research panel, administering and analyzing studies, communicating with you and providing customer service, and research purposes. Service providers we use to do work on our behalf may also use information for the same purposes. We share information with service providers as necessary for them to perform work for us. They are required to protect the information they receive from us or collect on our behalf and use it only for the specific purposes that we allow.
Our policies require that we retain records for as long they are needed for legal, tax, audit, investigative, and/or security purposes and then securely delete or destroy them.
You have the right to know the personal information we collect, how we use it, and how long we keep it. This right lets you ask us to limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information if we use that information for purposes beyond what is needed to provide the products and services you request or for other reasons specified in the law. The California law defines sensitive information to include:
- Account log-in
- Precise geolocation
- Racial or ethnic origin, religious or philosophical beliefs, or union membership
- Contents of your mail, email, and text messages unless we are the recipient of the communication
- Genetic data
- Using biometrics to uniquely identify you and collecting analyzing personal information about your health, sex life, or sexual orientation
We do not use, sell, share, or disclose sensitive personal information, as defined by California law, for any purpose other than with your consent, or for other purposes expressly authorized by California law.
You have a right to access information we have about you. You can request access to specific pieces and categories of personal information we collected about you, or request that we correct inaccurate personal information, by contacting us at ResearchPanel@verizon.com. If you receive compensation for your participation in one of our research studies, you can contact us using the email address above to receive additional information regarding your personal information and financial compensation.
You have the right to request that we delete personal information we have about you. YYou can request that we delete personal information we have about you, unless we need it for specific reasons listed in the California law by contacting us at ResearchPanel@verizon.com.
You have the right to inform us that you do not want your personal information sold or shared. We do not sell or share personal information as it is defined under California law, and we have not sold it in the past 12 months.
You have the right to not be discriminated against. We will not discriminate against you if you exercise any of the rights described in this policy. We will not deny your participation in one of our research panels if you exercise any rights described in this section.

Additional California Privacy Rights. Under California’s Shine the Light law, California customers may request, once per year, that we disclose the identity of any third parties with whom we have shared personal information for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes within the previous calendar year, along with the type of personal information disclosed.
